Hershey with Almonds Recipe
Some of my favorite homemade food gifts to make are these Almonds and this Easy Chocolate Bark Recipe.
The combination of almonds and chocolate, especially Hershey’s chocolate, is a creative and unique way to say thank you.
Today, I’m excited to share another wonderful chocolate recipe.
Ingredients
- 36HERSHEY’S KISSES Brand Milk Chocolates with Almonds
- 1 cup butter or margarine (2 sticks), softened
- 1/2Â cup granulated sugar
- 1Â tsp vanilla extract
- 1Â 3/4Â cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups slivered almonds finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)
- 1 cup powdered sugar for rolling
Directions
Heat oven to 375°F. Remove wrappers from the chocolates.
Beat butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl until fluffy. Add flour, almonds, and almond extract, if desired; beat on low speed of mixer until well blended.
Using about 1 tablespoon of dough for each cookie, shape the dough around each chocolate piece; roll in hand to make the ball. (Be sure to cover each chocolate piece completely). Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are set but not browned. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. While still slightly warm, roll in powdered sugar. Cool completely. Store in a tightly covered container. Roll again in powdered sugar just before serving.

Recipe Notes for Hershey with Almonds
- Always use fresh and unsalted almonds. Whole natural almonds and nothing else. Use a high-quality nut to get a high-quality final product
- Toasting the almonds creates a crunchier texture, bringing out their flavor
- Double dipping is possible if you want a thicker chocolate coating. Repeat the dipping process after the first layer dries
Variations for Hershey with Almonds
- As an option, sprinkle with sea salt. If you like the sweet and salty flavors, sprinkle some sea salt before the chocolate hardens
- For a vegan variation, use vegan chocolate
- Feel free to use other nuts in this recipe -pecans, walnut halves, Brazil nuts, cashews, peanuts, or even macadamia nuts are all great variations
- Spice it up! For a smoky chocolate flavor, grind some chili flakes into a powder and add them to the melted chocolate
